Our Team

There are two podiatrists currently consulting at Essendon Foot Clinic. Our podiatrists are registered to practice in Victoria. Daniel is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association and Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia.

There are two reception and administration staff members who manage the day-to-day running of the clinic. Our team have extensive experience working in medical clinics and client services and ensure the practice runs smoothly and efficiently.

Daniel McManus

Daniel McManus
Qualification: B.Podiatry, Endorsed Prescriber of Scheduled Medicines
Special interests: Children’s Podiatry, Running Injuries.

Daniel McManus graduated with his undergraduate podiatry degree in 2005 and has since attained his endorsement as a Podiatric Prescriber of Scheduled Medicine in Victoria. As a trained Laser Technician, he can treat fungal nails, plantar warts, and various soft tissue pathologies. Daniel’s dedication to comprehensive podiatric care extends to his regular attendance at seminars and webinars focusing on sports and biomechanics, paediatrics, and high-risk cases, ensuring ongoing professional growth.

Beyond his clinical practice, Daniel also works part-time for Monash Health Community’s Child and Family Team, collaborating within a multi-disciplinary framework alongside physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. He previously chaired the Australian Podiatry Association Special Interest Group for Paediatrics. As a resident of Essendon and the owner of Essendon Foot Clinic, Daniel is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care to the local community. He prioritises evidence-based practice, staying abreast of current research and its practical applications.

Daniel finds joy in running, relishing the challenges and triumphs that come with marathon running. He has conquered four Melbourne Marathons with a personal best time of 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Bernard Comerford

Bernard Comerford
Qualification: B.App.Sc.(Pod) Grad.Dip.Pod. Master of Podiatry

Bernard Comerford completed his undergraduate Podiatry degree in 1984 and after travelling overseas for 12 months he established his multi-disciplinary practice in Essendon in 1986. Further studies were undertaken in the following years seeing Bernard complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Podiatry at La Trobe University in 1994, his Masters in Podiatry at Curtin University in Perth in 2003 and he is an Endorsed Podiatric Prescriber of Scheduled Medicines in Victoria.

Bernard has been a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine since 1996 and is currently an external Clinical Studies Supervisor at both La Trobe and Charles Sturt Universities. He is a member of the ANZPAC University Accreditation Panel and the La Trobe University’s External Curriculum Advisory Panel. With a keen interest in skin and nail infections, Bernard undertook intensive training with Cutera to qualify as a Laser Technician and treated fungal nail and plantar warts in his Essendon practice.
